The small rural community of Agbokpa, Ghana lies in the in the Eastern region of Ghana. The town of Agbokpa has a population of roughly 400 people. The community is settled along the coast of Lake Volta. Lake Volta is the largest artificial Reservior in the world based on surface area.

Lake Volta serves as a huge influence for many of the villages in Ghana. Its size is about 250 miles (400 km) long and covers 3,283 square miles (8,502 square km), or 3.6 percent of Ghana’s area. Due to its size and proximity, many of the community members are fisherman. The lake is also important for providing transportation and routes for shipping.
Community Demographics
The community of Agbokpa is small. The population represents both young and old. The common occupations are farming and fishing, and some women of the village trade in these goods at markets.
